MSNBC, a well-known cable news network, is undergoing a significant transformation. After nearly three decades on air, the network will be rebranded as MS Now, a name that reflects its commitment to providing a source for news, opinion, and global insights. This change is part of a larger shift towards a new media company, VERSANT, marking a departure from its previous association with NBCUniversal.
The iconic peacock logo, synonymous with NBC, will no longer be a part of the MSNBC brand. In its place, a bold red, white, and blue color scheme will be introduced, signifying a fresh and independent identity. The network assures its viewers that the familiar and trusted hosts and journalists will remain, offering the same commitment to justice, progress, and truth.
MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler explained that this transition is a strategic move to assert their independence and build a modern newsgathering operation. “During this time of transition, NBCUniversal decided that our brand requires a new, separate identity,” Kutler stated. “This decision now allows us to set our own course and assert our independence as we continue to build our own modern newsgathering operation.”
The new name, MS Now, will be available on various providers, including Verizon Fios, Xfinity/Comcast, Spectrum/Charter, Optimum/Altice, DIRECTV, DISH, Contour TV/Cox, and more. Viewers can easily locate the channel using their provider’s channel finder or guide.
This rebranding comes with a promise of continued excellence in journalism and a commitment to delivering the news that matters. As MSNBC embraces this new chapter, it invites viewers to stay tuned and experience the evolution of a trusted news source.
