Qantas is set to revolutionize its economy class offerings with the introduction of ‘Qantas Economy Plus’ across its 737s, A220s, and A321XLRs. This new service will provide passengers with enhanced comfort and convenience, marking a significant step forward in the airline’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
The ‘Qantas Economy Plus’ concept is designed to offer extra legroom seating, priority boarding, and priority access to overhead bin space for baggage. This initiative aims to cater to the needs of both corporate and leisure travelers, ensuring a more comfortable and efficient travel experience.
On the A321XLRs, 36 Qantas Economy Plus seats will be available, while the 737s will feature 48 such seats, and the A220s will offer 20. These seats will be positioned in strategic areas, including the exit row, front row of economy, and main cabin, providing passengers with ample legroom and priority services.
The airline has also addressed the initial concerns regarding the passenger-to-toilet ratio on the A321XLRs. Initially, the aircraft were planned with three toilets, but after customer and crew feedback, an additional toilet was added, ensuring a more comfortable and practical layout. The first aircraft with four toilets is expected to arrive in December 2025, and all future A321 deliveries will follow suit.
The introduction of ‘Qantas Economy Plus’ is a response to the evolving needs of travelers and the airline’s commitment to innovation.
